How does a Patient change their preferred method of two-step authentication?
A Patient can change their two-step authentication method by signing into their HIPAA Video account and navigating to the My Profile page.
Once in the My Profile settings, click the SECURITY tab on the left-hand navigation bar.
From here, the Patient has the option to change their preference from an SMS (text message) to a Phone call or WebAuthn.
- SMS (text message) - you will receive your passcode by text message
- Phone call - you will receive a phone call to the number provided. A lady's voice will read out the passcode to you.
- WebAuthn - utilizes your smart device's Fingerprint/Facial Recognition, or if you are using a Yubikey USB security device.
Simply click the method of choice and click Save at the bottom of the page.
